During these very difficult economic times “innovation” and working
within the current budget at a county level is imperative. County
government must adjust to doing more with less just as families are
doing across the state. Any increase of taxation by the county would
only further compound the current fragile economic condition facing most
every taxpayer in the county. I was
fortunate to have served several years as a township trustee/supervisor
which provided me with grassroots experience in understanding the
importance of a customer (taxpayer) service
approach in representing my residents.

A Winning History
Commissioner Keith Rengert, a
lifelong resident of District 15 was first elected to township office in
1984 and again in 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000. During his 18 year tenure
in township government he was known for his success in providing his
constituents the best “bang for their buck” … for their tax dollar in
the tri-county area (Detroit News). He was first elected county
commissioner in 2002 and again in 2004, 2006 and 2008. He has
consistently received endorsements such as “hard working, classy guy
with an exceptional grasp of issues” by the two major Detroit
newspapers. |
